Autoglass and calibration –
The 360° training

Comprehensive course on the professional handling of vehicle glass and driver assistance systems (in accordance with Section 8 of the German Trade and Crafts Code – HwO)

Objectives

This course provides in-depth technical knowledge on the proper use of windscreen bonding adhesives in vehicle glass installation, including safety-critical aspects and OEM specifications. You will learn various professional cutting techniques as well as methods for stone chip repair. A key focus is placed on the structure and functionality of modern driver assistance systems – including camera-based, radar, ultrasonic and laser-supported technologies. You will gain the competence to carry out calibration procedures in accordance with OEM standards and to safely operate the required measuring technology and calibration equipment.

Description

In this 3 day training course, participants gain comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of automotive glazing. Starting with the various techniques for removing a windscreen, through to bonding the new glass and legally compliant calibration of common driver assistance systems, the course covers every relevant step and requirement in detail.

Proper execution of stone chip repairs is also thoroughly explained and practised.

• Windscreen replacement, including preparation and post-installation steps; removal and installation techniques

• Stone chip repair

• Overview of camera types (mono, stereo, Tricosal, Kostal with pad) and radar systems (ultrasonic, lidar, front-facing laser sensors)

• Basics of vehicle diagnostics: fault memory and comfort systems

• Wheel alignment and OEM specifications

• System interaction and integration

Training structure

The training courses are divided into units of 45 minutes with a break after two teaching units. Training lasting several hours include a comprehensive catering. Coffee and soft drinks are freely available during the training.
